Each pair plays the original clip next to the edited result. The label tells you which mode produced it, so you know what to expect before you choose.
Motion Transfer

Features
What the Genjutsu Workbench Gives You
Two editing modes, reference-driven looks and clear credit estimates, all in the browser on NovaImage AI.
Motion Transfer
Take the choreography, timing and camera movement of a 4–30 second clip and apply them to a new character, pet, model or setting.
Object Swap
Keep the shot you filmed and change one element in it: a person, product, outfit, prop or background. Clips can run 4–30 seconds (up to 15 seconds on Lite).
Multiple Reference Images
Add up to 10 photos on Standard and Pro (9 on Lite). Several angles of the same subject help keep its look steady from frame to frame.
Upload Your Own Footage
Use a phone recording, runway walk or existing ad as the base. MP4 and MOV files up to 50MB are accepted, so there is no need to reshoot.
Ready-Made Templates
Pick a template below and press Recreate. With the prompt switched off, default instructions are used, so you can generate without writing a prompt.
Three Quality Tiers
Draft at 480p on Lite or Standard and export finished work at 720p on Pro. The estimated credit cost appears before you generate, and results download as MP4.
Use Cases
Explore What You Can Create with Genjutsu AI
From trend remixes to product and fashion content, Motion Transfer and Object Swap cover a wide range of everyday video work.
Trend Clips & Duo Remixes
Recreate a solo or two-person trend for TikTok, Reels or Shorts. Use a template or short clip, add one photo per person, and the original timing carries over.
Product Showcases for Online Stores
Place a new product into an ad you have already shot with Object Swap. Use sharp photos from several angles, and check labels and logos before you publish.
Recurring Characters & Pets
Run a channel around a virtual character, mascot or pet. Reuse the same clear full-body photos in each new clip to keep the subject recognizable.
Outfit & Runway Previews
Pair front, side and back garment photos with a runway clip in Motion Transfer, or change an outfit in Object Swap. Review drape, prints and logos frame by frame.
Dance & Performance Edits
Turn a rehearsal or dance take into a stylized character or stage scene while the choreography and camera path follow the original recording.
Ad Scene Variations
Try home, beach or studio backgrounds on the same source clip with Object Swap. Compare ideas at 480p and render the ones you keep at 720p.
FAQ
Genjutsu AI FAQs
Answers about input requirements, the two modes, credits, failed tasks and how you can use your results.
What is Genjutsu on NovaImage AI?
Genjutsu is an AI video editing workbench on NovaImage AI powered by the Genjutsu 1.0 model. It works on footage you already have rather than generating from text. Motion Transfer rebuilds the scene from your reference images while following the movement, camera and timing of the source clip. Object Swap keeps the original take and replaces a person, outfit, product, prop or background you choose.
How does Motion Transfer work, and when should I use it instead of Object Swap?
Upload a 4–30 second source clip (up to 15 seconds on Lite) or pick a template, then add reference images in JPG, PNG or WEBP. The movement, pacing and camera path of the clip are carried over to the character, pet or setting in your references. Use Motion Transfer when you want a new performer or a new world; use Object Swap when the filmed take should stay and only certain elements should change.
How does Object Swap work?
Upload the 4–30 second shot you want to keep (up to 15 seconds on Lite), add reference images in JPG or PNG of the replacement person, outfit, product or background, and optionally turn on the prompt to describe the change. The rest of the frame is used as the base. Results work best when you change one target per run and start each new variation from the original source video, so small differences do not add up.
Do I need editing experience or a detailed prompt?
No. The prompt is optional; with it off, default instructions are used. You can press Recreate on a template, or upload a short clip and one clear reference photo. If you turn the prompt on, a single plain sentence about who or what to replace is usually enough. Clean source footage and sharp reference photos make a bigger difference than a long prompt.
What kind of source clip works best?
A clip of about 5–10 seconds with one clear main subject, stable framing and even lighting tends to give the most reliable results. Fast cuts, strong camera shake, hands disappearing into pockets or people blocking each other are harder, because details that are hidden in the source cannot be reconstructed accurately. Short clips with clean movement usually hold together better than long, crowded scenes.
Which reference images should I use for characters, pets or two-person clips?
Use sharp, well-lit photos that match the framing of your clip. For full-body dances or runway walks, upload a full-body photo instead of a face crop. Several angles of the same subject help keep a recurring character, pet or product consistent. For pets, natural movements keep proportions more believable than upright dance moves. For two-person clips, upload one photo per person, choose a clip where neither person is hidden, and use the prompt to say who is on the left and who is on the right.
Can I use it for products, clothing and ad backgrounds? Will logos or packaging text change?
Yes. Object Swap can replace a product in an existing ad or try different backgrounds on the same clip, and Motion Transfer can show garments in motion using a runway clip. Because the video is generated, small packaging text, logos, prints and back details may shift or soften. Upload clear front, side, back and label close-ups, test with a short clip first, and review logos, text and fit frame by frame before publishing.
Which file formats and lengths are supported?
On this page, source clips must be MP4 or MOV, up to 50MB, and 4–30 seconds long in both modes. On Lite the maximum is 15 seconds. These are NovaImage AI limits for this page. Motion Transfer accepts JPG, PNG or WEBP reference images up to 30MB each, and Object Swap accepts JPG or PNG up to 20MB each. You can add up to 10 images on Standard and Pro, or 9 on Lite.
How do the Lite, Standard and Pro tiers differ?
There are three tiers with 480p or 720p output. Lite renders at 480p for clips up to 15 seconds and uses the fewest credits, which makes it handy for drafts. Standard uses Genjutsu 1.0 at 480p for clips of 4–30 seconds. Pro uses the same Genjutsu 1.0 model and exports at 720p. To save credits, try an idea at 480p first and render the version you keep on Pro.
How many credits does a video use, and what if a generation fails?
Credits depend on the tier you choose and the length of your source clip. The estimate is shown on the Generate button before you submit, and you need enough credits in your NovaImage AI balance to start. If a task fails, any credits that were pre-charged for it are returned to your balance according to NovaImage AI's credit rules. Your inputs stay in the workbench so you can review them and try again.
Do I need a subscription, or can I buy credits once?
Both are possible. NovaImage AI offers monthly and yearly plans as well as one-time credit packs, and the same credit balance is used for this page. Visit the Pricing page for current plans and packs.
Can I use the videos commercially?
Finished videos download as MP4 files, and content created with NovaImage AI can be used commercially, for example in social posts, store listings and ads, under the NovaImage AI Terms of Service. Only upload clips, images, likenesses, brands and audio that you have the rights or permission to use.
